Reading Promotion and Events:

• Scholastic Book Fair, Feb. 10-16, 2011

• Virginia Readers' Choice (VRC) - Each year the newest titles for VRC are purchased by our library. Students read them and vote for their favorite book. Based on the votes tabulated, the VRC book of the year is chosen. All classes are asked to participate in the voting.

Reading Passports:

Our fourth grade will be participating in our Reading Passport program. Each student will be asked to complete their passport by reading books from various genres and then having their passport stamped by the librarian when their book is completed. Incentives will be offered to all students who participate and prizes will be offered to the first three students who complete their passports.

AR Books:

We provide a full range of Accelerated Reader books, ranging in levels 1 - 5 and above.
