NNPS students win state transportation poster contest
Four Newport News students awarded in Virginia Association for Pupil Transportation poster contest

(07/06/2017) -Three elementary school students and one middle school student will have their poster designs featured in next year's Pupil Transportation in Virginia calendar. Madison Roberts of Discovery STEM Academy placed first in the Kindergarten-2nd grade division of the contest, and her entry will represent Virginia in the National School Bus Safety Week Poster Contest. McIntosh Elementary students Courtney Turner and Grayson Sypott placed third in their respective divisions and Huntington Middle School student Amarasia Johnson placed second in the middle school division.

This year's theme was "My Driver - My Safety Hero!" Entries were judged on the relationship of the poster design to school bus safety practices, originality and expression, execution and visual impact. Prizes were awarded for first, second and third place in each division.
