2023 Middle and High School STAR Awards

On April 19th, the Newport News Public Schools Youth Development department held their annual recognition for student groups that exemplify the characteristics of student leadership and volunteerism.

118 middle and high school students representing 40 clubs and organizations were honored for their efforts to impact their schools, and the local community. These role models enjoyed a luncheon with their peers and heard encouraging words from the Chairman of the School Board, Mrs. Lisa Surles-Law.

These student groups use their time and talents to lend a hand and are to be commended.
