Frequently Asked Questions
east What is a “Digital Transformation?"
A digital transformation is a comprehensive shift in teaching, learning and leadership strategies leading to the digitalization of the learning experience for all students. This shift occurs as a result of reframing instruction to enhance learning experiences through the use of desktop computers, mobile devices, the Internet, software applications, and other types of digital technology to teach students of all ages in authentic and meaningful ways while enhancing their digital literacy.
east So, Digital Transformation is the same as One-to-One (1:1) where all students get devices?
A digital transformation goes beyond simply providing Chromebooks to students. By combining innovative teaching practices, professional development, and a rigorous curriculum, NNPS will leverage technology to personalize and transform learning for all students.
east What does Digital Transformation look like across grade levels?
Devices coupled with innovative teaching practices and rigorous curriculum will transform teaching and learning for all students.
- Elementary: We will support the digital transformation in grades PK-5 through ensuring equitable access to technologies throughout the building.
- Middle & High: We will support the digital transformation in grades 6-12 through a one-to-one initiative, which puts devices in the hands of all students to support learning within and beyond the classroom.
east Why are we transforming now?
NNPS has been in the planning phase of Digital Transformation since January of 2020. Due the recent COVID-19 closure our implementation timeline has been expedited to ensure all students have access to quality learning experiences.
east When will more information regarding device distribution be available?
Information regarding device distribution for students grades 6-12 will be disseminated in the coming months via email, phone blast, and updates to our Digital Transformation website. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to ensure we are meeting the needs of all students.
east Will internet access be provided to families who do not have access?
NNPS is committed to providing equitable access for all students. NNPS has partnered with Sprint, Verizon and Cox to offer internet access solutions for secondary students who do not have access to the internet in their homes. Information regarding these partnerships is forthcoming.
