NNPS Earns Award for Budget Excellence

(February 3, 2012) - Newport News Public Schools has earned a Meritorious Budget Award for its 2011-2012 budget. Presented by the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO), the award acknowledges NNPS for achieving "the highest standards of school budgeting."

The school district's budget document received high marks from professional reviewers. According to John D. Musso, Executive Director of ASBO, "The award represents a significant achievement by Newport News Public Schools. It reflects the commitment by...the school district to achieve the highest standards of school budgeting."
