Free Flu Vaccine Clinics Rescheduled for January 2016
FluMist Now Available

(12/18/2015) -For the second year, Newport News Public Schools has partnered with the Health Hero organization to provide free flu vaccinations to all students (who do not have chronic health conditions) with signed parental consent. Due to a manufacturing shortfall, there was a national shortage of the FluMist vaccine and not all NNPS students who were signed up to participate were able to be vaccinated during the school based clinics in October.

Now that the FluMist vaccine is available, the school clinics will be held January 5-7, 2016 (see schedule below) to vaccinate students who submitted a signed parental consent form at the beginning of the school year.

If your child has already received the vaccination, by mist or shot, please notify your school nurse by Monday, January 4.

By working together, the spread of flu at school and in the community can be minimized.

For more information about the clinic, contact your school nurse. For more information about Health Hero, go to www.HealthHeroUSA.com.
