Superintendent presents State of the Schools Address

Superintendent Dr. George Parker presented the State of the Schools Address on Thursday, November 29, where he shared some of the division's successes and opportunities with guests. Heritage High School's Category 5 Jazz Ensemble performed the prelude to start the event, while Menchville High School's Air Force JROTC Color Guard presented colors and Heritage High School student Olivia Cooper performed the National Anthem.
At a reception held before the event, guests interacted with students from Denbigh High School's Aviation Academy, Crittenden Middle School, Discovery STEM Academy, Heritage High School's Governorâs STEM Academy, Riverside Elementary School, Warwick High School's Governor's Health Sciences Academy and B.T. Washington Middle School to learn more about their programs. Representatives from Bayport Credit Union, Community Knights and Newport News Shipbuilding were also present to talk about their partnerships with NNPS. Guests also enjoyed the music of the Menchville High School String Ensemble during the reception.
