Register Now for Megagenesis 2019: A College and Career-Ready Experience

Students can learn more about local colleges and careers at Megagenesis 2019, a free college and career-ready experience for middle and high school students and their families.

Megagenesis 2019 will be held from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at Woodside High School, 13450 Woodside Lane in Newport News.

Dr. Makola M. Abdullah, President of Virginia State University, will deliver the keynote address and students will have the opportunity to meet recruiters from local colleges and universities, attend numerous career workshops, visit community and corporate exhibits, and enjoy the complimentary lunch.

Virginia State University, Virginia Tech, Hampton University, Christopher Newport University, the College of William and Mary, Norfolk State University and other institutions of higher learning will be onsite to acquaint students with their academic programs and admissions process.

Student participants may also attend career workshops in such fields as medicine, engineering, business and education. College preparatory workshops will be offered for students and their families.

Megagenesis 2019 is presented by the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. Zeta Lambda Education Foundation, in partnership with Newport News Public Schools, CHROME Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., and GEAR UP Virginia.
