School Board Members-Elect Take Oath of Office

School Board Members-Elect Rebecca Shwayder Aman and Marvin Harris took their oath of office during a special ceremony on June 24. The Oath of Office was administered by the Honorable Angela Reason, Clerk of the Circuit Court.

Aman was elected to represent the Central District on the Newport News School Board on May 19, 2020. She is an attorney specializing in estate planning, trusts, business and tax law. Aman is a graduate of Newport News Public Schools.

Harris was reelected to the School Board in May 2020. He represents the North District. Harris is a training executive for the Department of Defense and is a retired U.S. Army veteran. He was first elected to the School Board in May 2016.

John Eley, III, was reelected to represent the South District on the School Board in May 2020. Eley was unable to attend the ceremony.

Aman, Eley and Harris will serve four-year terms beginning July 1, 2020 and concluding June 30, 2024.
