John Gnik named Virginia High School League State Forensics Champion

John Gnik, a senior at Warwick High School, was named a state champ in forensics at the annual Virginia High School League State Forensics Meet held in March. Gnik captured the top award in extemporaneous speaking.

During the extemporaneous speaking competition, Gnik was provided 30 minutes of preparation time, during which, he had to prepare a seven-minute speech.

Gnik participated in two preliminary rounds before capturing the final championship in the Group 5A category. During the state tournament rounds, Gnik spoke on three topics: United States tax policy, Latin American relations and the United States Supreme Court.
