Heritage students recognized by Governor for NSA Day of Cyber Challenge

(06/21/2017) -Heritage High School ranked sixth in the Commonwealth in Governor Terry McAuliffe's "NSA Day of Cyber" School Challenge, with 24% of the student body participating. Students used the online career exploration platform to test-drive cyber careers and live a day in the life of six leading National Security Agency cyber professionals.

Students and administrators from Heritage, along with school division leaders, attended an awards reception at the Governor's mansion on June 7 that honored the top participating high schools in the state. Governor McAuliffe presented a Cyber Resume and a NSA Certificate of Completion to each student.

The challenge, sponsored by the National Security Agency and powered by LifeJourney technology, gave students the opportunity to experience challenging real-life cyber scenarios, discover the skills and tools used by NSA cyber professionals, and explore the vast number of careers in cybersecurity. Virginia led the nation in the total number of students who participated.
