Dual Enrollment

Career and Technical Educations prepares students to succeed in the workplace and post secondary education.

High School Juniors and Seniors in Newport News Public Schools have the opportunity, to obtain Dual Enrollment college credits through Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) while taking a Career and Technical Education course.

Dual enrollment is a program that allows high school students to earn college and high school credit concurrently. This credit may support a post secondary diploma, certificate, or degree at a Virginia public institution and may also be applied to a high school diploma.

Students will be taught at their home high school by an approved dual enrollment teacher. There are no tuition fees or travel required to TNCC for this wonderful opportunity for our students!
