School Supply Drive Successfully Connects Students with the Tools They Need
Posted: November 17, 2020
While school may have started virtually, the generosity of our community is very real!
In response to the NNPS Together 2020 School Supply Drive, generous community members donated supplies and money to provide approximately 700 families with the pens, paper, erasers, rulers, notebooks, crayons, pencils and so many other items they will need this school year.
Newport News Public Schools offers heartfelt thanks to individual donors, as well as to our community partners who contributed supplies or funding, including:
- Newport News Education Foundation
- Piggly Wiggly, Newport News location, whose customers and employees helped us "stuff the bus" with more than 250 bags of supplies
- The Newport News Woman's Club
- The United Jewish Community Center of the Virginia Peninsula
- Canon Virginia, Inc.
- Hilton Christian Church
- Crossroads Community Church
- Jefferson Lab
- Warwick @ City Center Rotary Club
- The Mariners Museum
- And many other community members who donated supplies or money
