Licensure

ANNOUNCEMENT: Newport News Public Schools is committed to supporting our staff in their pursuit of professional growth opportunities. To this end, NNPS increased the total amount of funds available for tuition reimbursement for the 2023-2024 school year to ensure that more staff members can benefit from such opportunities. However, due to the high demand of requests, we regret to inform you that the 2023-2024 school year reimbursement funds have been fully utilized. This means that your reimbursement request cannot be approved. We understand that this news may be disappointing and apologize for the inconvenience it may cause. We are pleased to announce that NNPS will be able to continue offering tuition reimbursement, and funds will be available again beginning the 2024-2025 school year. If you were already approved for reimbursement, please continue the process of submitting the required paperwork according to the policy

Retrieving Licensure Documents

Effective June 21, 2023, the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is no longer printing licenses or requirements letters and evaluations for provisional licenses. To obtain a copy of your license or requirement letter/evaluation, you must register for an eGOV account and retrieve the document(s) electronically.

Access eGOV via the VDOE Licensure website or click the Teacher License Query tab on this page.
