The Youth Development department held their annual recognition for students and student organizations that exemplify the characteristics of student leadership and volunteerism. The STAR Awards, or Students Taking Action and Responsibility Awards, are held annually.

During the Secondary STAR Awards Banquet in April, 118 middle and high school students representing 40 clubs and organizations were honored for their leadership and volunteerism. The Elementary STAR Awards ceremony was held on June 7, and 240 students representing each elementary school were recognized for having a positive impact in their schools and communities.
