At-home summer learning opportunities for PK and elementary students

The Newport News Public Schools is proud to offer virtual summer learning activities to keep preschool through fifth-grade students engaged in learning throughout the summer.
The Elementary Summer Learning Portal will help students in preschool through 5th grade sharpen their skills. The portal includes 8 weeks of reading, writing, math and social-emotional activities (PK only) for students in preschool through 5th grade.
Families have the flexibility to choose when, where and how much their children engage in learning: 1 week, 5 weeks or all 8 weeks, it's up to you!

Participation in this summer learning program is optional and self-paced; your child will not turn in any of the completed activities to their teachers. All educational activities are free, downloadable and adaptable.
