Justice Rollins is known her having a kind word for everybody at Newsome Park Elementary School where she is a 2nd grader in teacher Elesa Fouché's class. Her reasons for this are simple.

"Because everybody's special," Rollins said this week before joining her classmates in rehearsal for their Annual Winter Concert, which will feature 1st and 2nd graders performing holiday favorites December 14 at 6 p.m. in the school's auditorium.

In this season of giving, Fouché emphasized that Rollins is always helping her classmates and teacher, looking for ways to encourage them, being funny and willing to say a kind word.

"When people fall down, I help them up," Rollins said.

Learning, especially math, is her favorite thing about 2nd grade and she also enjoys coloring and physical education because she likes to run. Rollins said that parties at school are one of the great things about Newsome Park.

"She's a great student to have in the classroom," Fouché said.

Outside of school, Rollins enjoys riding her bicycle at home and coming to school each day with her twin brother, who is in another class just across the hall. Holiday artwork adorned the walls and numerous students, and more than a few teachers, were dressed to celebrate the season in these final weeks before winter break starts Dec. 18.

Saying nice things, finding fun in the day and staying positive all describe Rollins.

"Justice is very helpful, very kind, not just to classmates but to teachers," Fouché said. "She's very sweet; always giving hugs, encouraging her classmates, helping them spell their words and follow along with the lesson.

"Justice loves school, always comes in with a smile and a hug for her teachers, and she's kind to her teachers."
