Students, families, community enjoy all that March Mania 4.0 had to offer

March Mania 4.0 welcomed hundreds of students, families and community members for a day full of learning, fun and connection sponsored by Newport News Public Schools Family and Community Engagement on March 14 at Menchville High School.
“Attendees expressed their appreciation and excitement, highlighting how organized the event was and how much they enjoyed having a community-focused experience to participate in,” said FACE Coordinator Tiffany Jones.
Students and families engaged in interactive math challenges, a chess tournament and a basketball clinic, while the community resource fair provided opportunities to connect with local partners and participate in empowerment sessions. The prom giveaway provided nearly 30 high school students with dresses and formal attire for their upcoming senior proms.
“Attendees left inspired and excited for future events; and we look forward to continuing to bring the community together for more opportunities to learn, play and celebrate,” Jones said.
