NNPS students perform at All-Virginia Elementary Chorus

Posted: April 27, 2026

Students from Discovery STEM Academy and Richneck Elementary School participated in All-Virginia Elementary Chorus on April 25 at J.R. Tucker High School in Henrico County.

DSA music teacher Zachary Erhard and Richneck music teacher Jon Sims serve as the choral leaders for performing DSA students Ke’Monni Hall, Avery McGowan, Savant Riddick, Nyomi Sheppard, Enzo Shorter and Earl Williams, and Richneck students Lilly Breeden, Breya Celestine, Jane Evans and Riley Ring.

The Virginia Elementary Music Educators Association hosted the 21st annual event.

“All-Virginia Elementary Chorus is a prestigious honor open to highly qualified elementary programs that offers students the opportunity to participate in a state-wide performance ensemble,” said Katie SheehanSmith, NNPS supervisor of Visual & Performing Arts.

“Unlike the secondary all-state ensembles that are highly competitive and based on audition merit, the elementary chorus focuses on young musician participation, with an expectation of sight reading and performance skill.”
