Published May 28, 2026
Numerous Newport News Public Schools student entered artwork and were honored as place winners as Clerk of Newport News Circuit Court Angela Reason conducted the First Annual Clerk’s Law Day Art Contest this month.
Students from across Hampton Roads submitted original artwork inspired by this year's theme, “Lifting the Curtain on the Rule of Law and the American Dream,” according to Reason’s office.
During her Law Day Open House on May 1, each piece was displayed gallery-style throughout the Newport News Circuit Court for the public to view and vote on. Nearly 300 people voted.
Reason presented each of the winners at their school with a certificate and prizes.
Artwork will be on display in the Newport News Circuit Court and Clerk’s Office through the end of June.
