NNPS Assessment Memos

Newport News Public Schools administers screening, diagnostic, and standards of learning assessments to determine support needs and monitor student growth throughout the school year.

Results are shared with students, teachers, administrators and parents in order to identify successes as well as areas for improvement. Measuring progress is a key component to ensure students are college, career and citizen ready. In addition, using standardized assessments, supports in evaluating the strength of NNPS curriculum and instruction.
